Music Corruption Issues on SD card-SOLVED

Having problems with my Galaxy tab 2 7.0. It was recently upgraded to 4.1.1, and everything is fine except for transferring musing files to the SD card.

I have all my music on my Galaxy S2 At&t phone running ICS 4.0.4, was able to sync everything on it with Doubletwist. I tried to sync the Tab 2 with Doubletwist and it would not work. As soon as all music was transferred I would get a SD card corrupt error. I the tried Kies, but Kies would not transfer everything. On reboot files would corrupt.

The 32 GB card is an Adata class 4. With an adapter I checked it and formatted it on my laptop. No issues, card tested fine. to be on the safe side I bought a new Sandisk 32 GB card class 10, formatted it and tried it in the tab, same issues. Both cards were formatted and error checked in Windows 7.

I reset the device, even performed a factory wipe-reboot. Still at 4.1.1.

I then copied the music and video files from my phone to a folder on my Windows 7 laptop, and then copied everything direct to one of the SD cards and installed the card on the tab. Tab would not read the files.

I tried uploading only the video files, and they did not corrupt. I restarted the Tab several times and the files did not corrupt. Then I tried copying a few albums at a time to the SD card, and that seemed to work until I copied .38 special albums and a B.B. King album. Those corrupted, which makes me wonder if the system does not like music files with periods in the names.

I tried to trick it, renaming one file 38 Special, but after transfer it would revert back to the true album name, and then on reboot it would corrupt.

From what I understand I cannot downgrade to 4.0. I have not had these issues with my Galaxy S2 phone running 4.0.4, in fact this phone may be the best phone I've owned.

Has anyone encountered this problem, and is there a patch or fix that can be downloaded to fix this? Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: Music Corruption Issues on SD card

My Galaxy S2 has a Sandisk 32 gb class 4 card that has had zero problems, same goes for the same card in my Wife's phone and SD card.

The Sandisk card I bought for this tablet is a class 10 32 GB, and I have read on the forums that may be an issue. Class 10 could be wrong for this tablet. I've also read about issues with the Adata cards, even though this Adata 32 GB class 4 tested with no errors on Windows 7.

I bought a new Sandisk 32 GB class for the tablet, the same one I have in my phone and I will see how it works. I'll keep researching this to find a fix.

I'm new here, and I have researched this problem. I've found similar problems with other devices across the web...it may be 4.1.1 causing the problem but I'm not sure yet.

If anyone has had this exact problem with a tab 2 7.0, please let me know and let me know if you have found a fix. Thanks. I will post my progress on finding a fix here, hopefully that will help anyone going through the same thing,

Re: Music Corruption Issues on SD card

Since there could be a problem with the Adata card, and there was a chance the class 10 Sandisk could be wrong for this tab I ordered a class 4 Sandisk from Newegg, 32GB. I also tested an app from Google Play called Synctunes. The free test worked great, so I bought the app and my ITunes Library downloaded to the tab. survived reboot and power off and on. It looks like only 2 albums did not transfer and it looks to be an easy fix. The Adata card was the real problem, and the class 10 was just wrong.

The rest of the tablet works fine.
