Hello all,

Apologies if this has been posted but I have searched the forums already and also tried a general google search. I've been very happy with my One X so far (first time Android user), however I'm having an issue with the music player.

Every so often when I am listening to music, I will recieve an error message on my screen which says:

Music Enhancer has stopped unexpectedly. An error report will be sent to htc to help is improve our products.

This can sometimes happen over and over again until I stop listening to music and it is starting to become extremely annoying. Sometimes when I recieve a notification the music will stop altogether and then the notification sound will play, then the music will resume playing. However at other times the music will just be dimmed, so I'm not extactly too sure on how it's actually meant to work.

I have tried a factory reset on the device so far (and this is my second one - first one had a bad battery). I hopefully you guys will be able to help me, please!

Thanks very much! :D

Music will be dimmed?

Do you mean quieter or the screen darker?

It sounds like you are you saying that Beats audio crashes.

You could just trying not using Beats. There is another equalizer built into android, or you could go without any equalizer and listen to the music as well artist intended it to be heard.

But it could also be a problem with your ear buds. Do you have any others you could try?

Whoops sorry I didn't mean to say dimmed, I meant reduced hahah. I enjoy using the beats as it really does enhance the music experience for me. It would be a shame not to use one of the USP's on the phone.

I thought that the artists intended for us to hear the music through beats? (that is their selling point right?)

I'm onto my second pair of earphones and it's happening just as much. My software is updated (I check frequently, even though the auto update is on).

How do you get access to the Beats Audio software or the EQ?, on the AT&T version?

Beats is sort of a fixed setting equalizer. But even it has 3 different settings.

With ear buds plugged in, go to Settings / Sound / sound equalizer.

You will see this :

From there, any setting OTHER THAN Beats will use the Android equalizer.

Also if you select Beats there are still three different profiles within Beats to choose from :

Just tap at the top to see the choices. These ate meant to match beats to specific headsets. But you can play with them regardless of what headset you have.

On some devices (not the HOX) there is yet another equalizer built into Google Play Music app.
