Music Fidelity Poor on G2

I just gave up the iPhone 4 for the G2 and I am noticing that the playback of music is not as vibrant as even my BB. The factory music player has no equalization settings? Forget Slacker, the sound seems "muffled" highs are distinctly stunted.

Anyone else notice this? Is there a better solution?

Thanks in advance.

I'll be honest with you, iPods/iPhones are probably still the best music players on the market. Apple does love their music and they seem to be the only ones who give a rat's about their audio processors and gapless playback. Though the Nano and Shuffle have considerably lower sound quality, but I digress.

I haven't put the G2 through its paces as a music player, but the biggest improvement I've noticed from the G1 in this aspect is the inclusion of a headphone jack. :P

Winamp beta hit the Android Market, but it doesn't have an equalizer (at least not yet), you could give that a shot. Perhaps I should do the same just out of curiosity.
