Music Playback Error

For the past day or two my phone hasn't been playing my music on Google Play Music well at all. Half the songs I try yo play have not been playing. It seems to be the ones lower on the list (later on in the alphabet) which is odd to me, it's like the music player is only partially loading the music from my SD card but I have no idea why.

I have already tried restarting the phone as well as removing and inserting the SD card but that has not helped at all. Anyone got any other ideas I can try? This is really frustrating not being able to listen to my music. I'm pretty much out of ideas to try besides just deleting my entire sd card and trying again which I'd rather not do unless that's surely the issue.

Have you tried using a different music player?

What happens if you move some of the music (that won't play) to internal storage?

It's quite possible that the SD card has gotten corrupted; it shouldn't be a big deal to format it (in the phone), put it in your computer and copy the original files again.

I have tried removing all the songs and putting them back, that didn't really help. I suppose I can try moving them to internal storage instead and seeing what happens. That would not be a good solution though because that's really the purpose of me having an SD card in the first place, for storing music. I guess using a different media player might work, any suggestion? My favorite was the LG stock music player but that's not available on the V20 apparently.

Also it's quite the specific error it seems, if I just try to select one of the songs in question from the list it will give me the error. However if I was just to have it on shuffle and one of those songs was to be next, it plays with no issue. That really has me puzzled, if that's the case it's clearly finding the song there, but it won't allow me to specifically select it however and I'm not understanding why.

I highly recommend BlackPlayer EX ($2.95 USD). There is a free version here, but I have forgotten the limitations on it. Besides, the price is well worth it. I was searching for a music player when I switched to android for what seemed like an endless eternity, then I found BlackPlayer. I'd even be so bold as to say it's better than Poweramp ($3.99 USD).

This has happened to me with Google play music. So bad that I was going to cancel it. Called support multiple times, had it escalated and they couldn't figure it out. It's something with Google play music. I used multiple phones, devices, changed wireless router, you name it, nothing worked. Gave it a month, and then one day, it just worked again and no problems. Every once in a while, I will get a failure with a song. Google play music error, could not play requested song, but otherwise it's been pretty good. I have had a couple other friends have the same issue. Only thing I can say is that just give it some time and it should resolve itself. It's just a pain when you can't listen to music that keeps failing. Google play music still has a way to go, and I wish Google would address all of there issues. Call support and they're clueless.

Even through multiple updates the problem has still persisted. It also has another issue. I have over 2 thousand songs on my phone but once it hits song #999 it will go back to #1 instead of continuing on down the list. This mainly happens when I'm driving and trying to listen to music. It's really quite an issue that I don't understand how they could really let this slide considering there's people that have plenty more songs than I do on their phone I'm sure.
