music players plays on bluetooth connection

When I dock my charge in the car and bluetooth connects with the stereo the music player automatically starts playing - even if I haven't opened music player to play music for a long time. Is there a way to prevent the music player from starting up automatically? I suppose I could go into the task manager and kill the music player before docking, but that seems a little clunky.
