Music refuses to play on phone when connected to AUX?

I have a ZTE Force that runs on Android ICS. I can easily play music from my phone's speakers or whenever I plug in headphones.
Whenever I connect an aux cord to play in an external speaker or when I connect it to another speaker through bluetooth, the music will play for 5 or less seconds and then the music will just forcefully stop. If I click the play button after that it just instantly stops the music.

Welcome to Android Central! Compare the Aux cable's plug side by side with your headphone plug. Are the contact bands in exactly the same place? If there's any variation, then the Aux cable might be giving false signals to the phone to pause music.
