I love my G2, I love my music, they don't work too well together! It keeps turning itself off randomly, is it my device specifically? Is it stock froyo? Is is just ******ed? I am listening to Buckethead then all of a sudden it is silence, what is this?

I had this happen earlier today. I just assumed that I had bumped the headphone control. Are you sure that's not what is happening?

Been listening to some music today and some podcasts (pandora, stock music, and doggcatcher) and all three would stop in the middle. Very frustrating. I don't know what is going on.

Been testing it out and it will even do it on speaker. So it's definitely the G2 problem. I'll try to look at logcat tonight and see what's up

I'm having the exact same problem when listening to Streamfurious... its very frustrating

Lol sadly, as it is with most things through a manufactuar... they won't care unless its a big problem and its widespread

Could be tunewiki

My phone just started doing this yesterday. Before that, I listened to a lot of podcasts and music, without any problem. The only thing that changed in that time that seems relevant is that I installed tunewiki yesterday morning. I just uninstalled tunewiki, and so far I have gone an hour without the phone pausing playback.

It happens so randomly it could happen in a few hours, I haven't had the issue come back, however I know for sure it will come back.

Same here with Streamfurious. This happens over wi-fi and 3G. In fact what's odd is certain streams sound great at 128 and others sound like a tin can. I've noticed I have more problems with the awful sounding streams. Run the same stream through the G1 and it sounds great.

I took a look at that logcat the last time it happened. It looks like it has more to do with the chipset and when in question it just shuts off. More than likely could be fixed with an OTA or kernal.

Yeah and in my opinion HTC could have unknowingly fixed it in that new firmware that is out and about, if it does then I will have no more complaints... lol

Hopefully that OTA update will fix it, really eager to play my music without a random shut off
