Clock face will not stay on long enough for me to check time in middle of night?

New Google Watch 2, couple of annoying issues, last night first night with it on when I wake up in middle of night to check time, clock face will not display long enough for me to check the time. It disappears after a second. Also during night Watch making intermittent notification chimes, how to I make the watch silent while I sleep.

My watch is synced to a Pixel 8.

R1945 you may have aready figure out how to silent your watch at night. I turn on bedtime mode. I set it to turn on while charging after 2300 hrs.,.
