music skips with HTC EVO

When I play music and I am doing something else with the EVO, the music skips. The most common issue is when I have Google navigation in my car and have it hooked up with aux. jack and playing music. I also find it happens with other things, like using internet app and using android market place.

I came from the Palm Pre, and there was no issue of skipping which is weird, cause the HTC EVO is so much more powerful.

I am using the HTC stock music player, and I tried double twist, I think it happens with both of them.

How could he use it WITH Wi-Fi in the car?

I came from the Pre as well and have been able to use both Nav(not Telenav) and music. That multitasking was a big necessity for me in buying this device as I listen to music every day, and if I need to use navigation it doesn't change whether I want to listen to music or not.

I put the voice talk on mute, so I don't know if that has the issue or not.

Have you tried another music player? Mixzing? Found in the market for free.
There was another person having a similar problem after updating to Froyo.

I had a similar problem this weekend as I did some more driving with my music playing. Every now and then the power button acts as a pause/play button and stops Pandora or internet driven music like a flash based internet radio feed. I'll check my settings bit I don't think I have anything set to cut data connection when the screen's off, which is what it seems to b doing.

I read on another thread the stock player was skipping as well and they recomended Music Mod. Its a good program but now when i am listening to music on my Motorola S305 Stereo Bluetooth headset it will pause and unpause the wrong program.
If i start in stock HTC and hit pause, it stops there and Play will start the Music Mod. From there Music Mod takes over.
I like the HTC because of the Widget, but i recently got rid of it becuase of the odd bluetooth problem. I will say that i dont get any skipping on the Music Mod program.

I think it's a froyo issue -- music never skipped before, but now it skips when I'm loading a big web page or editing the ID3 tags. Never did that with 2.1.

My factory music player skips after the 2.2 update too. Plays fine when nothing else on the phone is being used. As soon as it multi tasks it starts to "skip". Really disappointing as I like to use the music player and multi task. Time to try other music players I guess.

*Edit* Music Mod has some nice features. But the music still "skips" like the stock one. grrrrr Although it seems to do it much less frequently.

I just noticed this problem yesterday while listening via Moto s9-hd. The headset was fully charged and never had a problem with music on the pre.

Any other solutions via htc stock music app?

If you guys are having issues with music skipping, especially when using Pandora, I would try the "Headset Blocker" widget. I was having issues with skipping music and the "voice dialer" kept coming up when skipping. For some reason the grounding in the headset port is interfering with the music playback. Necro-posting, but thank you so much! Was having the same problem with Inspire and the app seems to have fixed it.
