Music.....where does it go.....

I have a ton of music in playmusic app....when i download or pin it to my HTC ONE...where does it go....the music app shoes nothing....i want to make a few ringtones and cant find the music anywhere...not in the dowloads app....even with a file manager it isnt in any files....Please Help....

I left Apple Ipohne 3gs, 4, 4s, and recently left the iPhone5 for the Android......love the phone so far but this is bugging me.....

That's the file location. Plug your phone in your computer, look around in your file explorer, it will be there.

Just use a file explorer like ES File Explorer. You may need root access however.

But why wouldn't it just show up on the phone.

Can somebody test this? Needing root to access music on the phone seems ludicrous!

This is my first smartphone without a micro sd card, also my first time with this problem.

I copied all of my songs into a folder called "Music" and PowerAmp had no problem finding them.

Buy when I am in play music it asks to pin it or download to device. It's not on the phone.

no its not on the phone its being streamed when you pin it to the phone theoretically your downloading it onto device at that point..now once you do that you should be able to go to native music app find that song and long press to make it a ringtone...Its not an HTC thing its a Google play setup thing ..

just tried with my nexus 10,opening up a song bought through Google play pinned it to the device attempt to open via power amp just to play, and it won't allow it but its on the device where I don't have to be on a network to listen. I believe its a piracy thing them protecting the music...

to be honest it made me stop purchasing music through Google play for that reason and I don't root....

Then how did you get your music onto your One?

I think I've read that when you pin music, it's actually cached to the device. Would explain why it can't be found by other music apps.

You can download your songs via computer, then move them to the phone, which should solve the problem.

that's my problem, I cant. A lot of my songs are a weird format that wont upload to my computer.
