Is there a way to mute the lg phone while on a call using a headset? It currently starts playing music and drops calls when I press the button

What are you trying to mute? The call or something else (like music) already sounding on the phone when the call came in?

What button are you pressing that's causing calls to be dropped?

So on my wired headset/mic there is a button to mute your microphone when you press it. On the HTC Hero it worked and would mute your microphone but on the optimus LG it instead drops the call and starts playing what ever is in queue on the music player
