Muting calls using headset

Hi there, does anyone know of a way to mute calls using the physical buttons on the supplied Samsung headset. I'm used to being able to do this on my work Blackberry but on the Edge 7 the middle button just kills the call. I dial into lots of work conference calls a physically muting yourself is much easier than trying to do it on the phone.

Also as an aside, does anyone know if it is possible to mute/unmute using a Gear S2?

For a phone call:

When a call comes in you can send to voicemail by pressing-and-holding the select button (The small roundish button on the headset).

While on a call you can mute yourself by pressing-and-holding the select button (The small roundish button on the headset).
Edit: Yes I think this is backwards, a short press should mute and a long press should hang up the call...

Hold button on your headset for > 2 seconds to mute/unmute the call.
