Android Central Question

I have had my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for 2 yrs & 7 mths. It's still going despite not holding a charge for as long as it should. I'm ok with that. However, It's done this to me several times - it blacks out and the blue notification light comes on, the unlocked padlock icon with spinning circle comes on. I can't get out of this screen at all. I set me phone down and wait. When it does go away, my home screen comes on and several messages on top - No SIM card detected (or something like that) and No service detected. It takes a couple minutes, then my service comes on. There has been a white box that flashes on to say the verification process did not work, cancel or retry. I usually hit cancel. After all that- the phone is fine. The last time this happened, I was charging it. Is something toast and time to move on to a new phone? Everything else works well .

Welcome to Android Central! It sure sounds like something is starting to fail. The first and most important thing to do right now is to make sure all of your important data is backed up or synced somewhere, in case the phone completely fails.

Next, see if the problem persists after wiping the cache partition: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/de...t/wipe-cache-partition-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge
