My 3 month review of S7e

Pretty much... there's no need to get mad at someone for not liking what you like. Everyone's experiences are different... my wife is pretty much sick of her S7 (camera quality, touch response, battery life, and a few other complaints), so if you asked her about the phone, you would most likely get a review that wasn't nearly as kind as the one in the OP. But that's her experience... and my responsibility I guess, since I apparently head up all R&D at Samsung, Google, T-Mobile, Microsoft, etc.
All valid points, and being entitled to an opinion was in my initial reply. However, the OP then tried to refute my claim that the S7E build was good by posting a video of a drop test, which is a completely different thing. That's not an opinion, that's just not understanding the difference between build quality and drop resistance.

I have been a Galaxy user since the S3 but I strayed away on my last upgrade and got a LGG4...biggest mistake I have ever made with consumer electronics! The phone and software itself was ok (not stellar, just ok) but the reliability on the LGG4 was terrible! Sprint finally bought out my lease after 10 months and 3 replacements so I could upgrade it with my current Galaxy S7 Ede. I am absolutely happy to be back behind the screen of a Galaxy...I love the software, love the camera and everything is just intuitive. I do have my concerns about the edge screen and glass back durability but a good case can help with that.

Built doesn't only mean how it looks. It means
1. How it looks
2. How it feels in hand and usability
3. How durable is it

Yes I'll give 1 to S7 edge. But HTC 10 gets 1 2 and 3. I don't have a problem with how using the phone naked covers it in fingerprints. But when comparing to NOT HAVING THOSE UGLY PRINTS just makes HTC 10 or any other metal phone feel that much better. Add in the insane grip in hand due to those champhrred edges. Not to mention the tiny micro scratches S7 keeps getting. And the weak plastic and painted home button.

I'm with OP with this one. I have severe OCD and i baby my phones. With the time I had with it (3 months) I would always be thinking 'oh I hope it doesn't get scratched up while taking it in and out of pocket. Oh I hope the home button doesn't get scratched up more than it already is.' The thing is so fragile. Its just not fun to use. Its great to look at. But when it's not fun to use what good is it? And I know this might be only my experience but still.

I realized all of this when i switched after using it for 3 months. The over all experience on HTC is just snappier and sharper inside out. Theres no 'phone might get scratched up' anxiety anymore. And say what you want about touch wiz, but comparing it to other skins it is not very good out of the box.

The OP mentioned that you don't use phones side by side which eliminates the comparison affect of one looking better than the other. And i totally agree. If you own one of these one at a time you will know what OP is talking about.

Durability has almost nothing to do with build, unless it's so bad that it falls apart when you pick it up.

If what you say were true, you could say a fork-lift truck has a better build quality than a Rolls Royce. The fact you could drop a tonne of bricks on a fork lift and it might still work doesn't mean it's has better build quality than a Roller. It means it's more durable.

I used to get caught up with my phone scratching, but after going through a few phones and selling them when I upgrade I realized having a 100% scratch free phone doesn't really get you that much more in terms of resale value. You may actually lose more money once you factor in all the screen protectors and cases purchased. I started using my phones without a screen protector and caseless. I did have to buy a case for my S7e due to lack of grip around the sides, but I'm still using it without a screen protector. Phones are tools to make your life easier and I don't think a tool should dictate your enjoyment because you're worried it might scratch. You'll inevitably buy a new phone so enjoy it.

However I I agree the S7e feels fragile, but it's in a case so I should be good.
