My 3rd 6P RMA, Anyway to Restore ALL Phone Data?

My 3rd 6P replacement is coming in today, all had different issues. As you can imagine I'm getting somewhat exhausted from restoring all of my info from one phone to another, the most irritating part being app data and system settings. I hate having to sign into all of my apps and then try my best to remember the settings I had previously. It would be nice to just do a like a nandroid backup and restore everything in one go, but without rooting I assume this isn't possible. Are there any alternatives? Has anyone figured out an easier solution.

I have so many services, accounts, alarms, settings, it takes literally hours to get the phone set up. It's great that google play installs the apps for me when I sign into my google account, but it's almost pointless if I have to manually sign in and set up each and every one.

And this is why I wait for all the guinea pigs to test the phones. Either they "fix the glitch"/problem or I move on to something else.

I've used it and it works pretty good, transferring everything down to my call logs, just make sure that both phones are plugged in.

I'm curious as to why you had to exchange your phone so many times? I only exchanged my phone once, and it wasn't even because there was an issue, I just sent my 64GB version back for the 128GB and both phones were flawless.

So, when you move onto something else, do you then wait for the glitch/problems to be fixed on that something else you want to move onto and if it isn't fixed, move on again?

In the tech field, there are no perfect devices and if you're waiting for a flawless one, you're going to have a very long wait.

Does this work if both devices are Nexus? I will look into it, thanks!

I should rephrase, I am on my third Nexus 6P. The first had glaring issues with the oleophobic coating, looked like someone had let water dry on the phone. Second one has issues with the screen adhesive I think, it makes creaky noises just from picking it up, tapping on certain parts of the screen. It sounds like the screen is flexing. Third one has no issues thus far...

I believe it will, it works on any phone.

Of course there are no perfect devices. Yes every phone has problems. But you should look at what KIND of problems the phone is having as reported by the journalists and actual users. It's a matter of what you are willing to accept.

At the place i work at we run CAD software. We don't install the first build of anything for a new version. The cad software we run puts out a new build every 1 - 2 months.

We don't push it out to our users for a minimum of 6 maintenance builds, and many times longer, after that first release.

We let other companies and users be the guinea pigs and test it first to work out some of the more serious bugs. There is absolutely no way we are going to put an early build into our production use.

And it's not just the cad software we run. I hate to point out the obvious, but since you did, all software puts out updates.

I'm on my 2nd RMA....3rd phone as well. First one couldn't connect to bluetooth devices. Second one suddenly started taking pictures rotated at 90 degrees. Tech support bombed on that one and said I needed a new phone. Go figure. Their only line seems to be "do a factory reset". Yes its a pain restoring everything. I don't have a good shortcut.

Getting tired of this too.

The picture rotation thing was happening for a lot of people with camera apps. Many apps weren't updated and something about Marshmallow and the new camera was causing issues. Shouldn't be happening with the stock camera app though.

Wouldn't it be a security issue if all you had to do was sign in to a Google account, then all the apps on that account were downloaded and signed in to automatically....
