My 4g is awake in Fayetteville Ga.

I live in Newnan. I am having no luck. I sometimes see 4G pop up on my screen, but it quickly goes away and 3G appears again.

Gotta love that Sprint coverage map! Looks great online but it would be nice to actually have the service!! Thanks for the info.

Even though sprints coverage map is obviously exaggerated the primary reason why many people can't connect is because of issues with the evo itself. Personally I own a gnex and a evo and just so you know I was in newnan the other day and my gnex connected fine while my evo was stuck on 3g. If I reset the radio the 4g icon will pop up then go away shortly thereafter. Apparently there is another update that suppose to be coming out for the evo very soon that suppose to fix this issue.

the muffinman is on to something here... I agree 100%, and I'm basing this off my LTE experiences with the EVO LTE. There appears to be an issue with the phone finding (and sometimes holding) the LTE signal. For example, if I drive around at lunch where LTE is, my phone doesn?t switch to LTE until I prompt it to (yes I do have the phone set to CDMA/LTE). I have to either toggle Airplane mode or CDMA/CDMA LTE for the phone to lock on to 4G. There are numerous posts and comments about this, and hopefully a fix will be found for this issue.

Ok, sorry it took so long to get back. The first time I got on 4g I was at Rivers Road and Hwy 92 in north Fayette county. The signal was on and off though. Then I was at Hwy 138 and Hwy 314 ( showing in Riverdale) in which I was able to stay connected for the entire 30 minutes I was sitting there. I tried a speed test but it keep saying "could not connect to service" however my phone did have really fast speeds loading web pages and apps. Since I have had an EVO 3d and now this LTE I have only been able to use either 3g or WiFi because I am just outside the Atlanta old 4g area, so I could tell that my speeds last night were greatly enhanced when it showed I was connected to 4g. One thing though, I checked my 4g settings and it only showed connected to "Idnis" or something to that effect. It did not show anything else like service provider or anything else, thought that was weird.

I have also read in others blogs that Sprint has not turned on its LTE yet because they are still upgrading the towers. This upgrade they are doing is completely replacing all the old hardware on the towers with the new hardware for LTE and 3g. They are also experiencing problems with the new hardware connecting to the phones and that they are working on this problem. That is why some people are getting spuratice hits on certain towers. I do have faith that they will get it up and running though, just have to be patient. Also I know that everyone is having to work out some other bugs with this phone, like the weather widget and keyboard not responding to all touches in landscape mode. I did have the advanced task killer installed on my EVO LTE and some say that was causing the problem with the weather widget. I uninstalled it and it seemed to correct the issue for a short time.

Ok, spoke with Sprint rep at the store today and he did say that they had a breifing today about the LTE service. I was told that the LTE and SIII phones are having a problem receiving the 4g signals that is being sent out from the towers and that Sprint is working on an update to be sent out to fix the phones. So be on the lookout.
