My Android Tablet puzzles me

My tablet is new and has not been rooted(that I know of), I wouldn't know how, so why does the area for my serial number,IMEI, and MDN all read as "Unknown"? It's a Zeepad, I know it's not a popular tablet, and I'm having trouble finding any support for it, but usually when I come here I find very helpful information. I was going to add it to my Verizon, but they want an IMEI #, and there isn't one. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

MDN on my Samsung Galaxy Tab i815 on VZW network says unknown as well. The i815 is not rooted either. The IMEI will be populated when you have it authorized by one of the cell phone companies to use their network. I think that TAB is a wifi tablet only. So I think you are correct about it not being rooted. Your TAB could very well have the equipment and all to be put on one of the carriers but disabled by the manufacturer and can't be used but Android picks it up.

Okay thanks for the info. I have another question. My tablet will not receive phone calls if I'm not actually using it at the time. When the display turns off, I don't get anything. Then when I go back into it I get all of my notifications. Shouldn't my tablet be able to receive calls just like a phone?

Are these wireless calls or internet type calls? If these are internet type calls you may have to set your tablet to not sleep but your battery will run down faster when not plugged in for charging. I am really not that familiar with your tablet. None of my tablets ever took wireless calls and I have not seen any with wireless phone calls only 3G and 4G data. What version of android is on your tablet? That might have something to do with the notification while the lock screen is activated.
