My android won't charge when the case is on

I recently got a new phone case for my S5 and whenever the case is snapped on and I try to charge it it says "unable to charge make sure you are using an android charger and battery" but when I take the case off my phone charges just fine with the same cable and port. This case is one that snaps onto the back of the phone replacing the back cover and has a front cover attached. I've had one of these cases before and it was fine. I even removed the sensor for the case to see if that was interfering somehow but no luck. Does anyone know whats wrong?
