Android Central Question

So this is how it happened, I borrowed my dad's charger and left it until it gets fully charged so I checked back on it and I panicked cause my phone was supper hot, but it cooled down as soon as I removed it from charging so I turned it on and then suddenly the battery above is missing and it says I'm low bat and it's -1%. I restarted and rebooted but it still not working. Then my dad said it must have been the charger since it's a tight voltage charger and he said it was to strong for my phone that's why it happened. Is it really the reason?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? What do you mean by "tight voltage charger"? Was that charger intended for phones?

In general, unless the charger is very poor quality or faulty, a modern Android device can't be "overcharged" -- the phone is smart enough to draw only the energy it needs. If the charger is bad, then it could potentially cause problems. But it might also be that your phone's battery is failing.
