My back button still lit up when the device is off.

I have a samsung galaxy tab 3 with 8 inch screen. When I turn it off the multi task and back buttons are still lit up thus draining the battery. What can I do about it? Please help.

Try to factory reset your tablet. Otherwise, the issue most likely is hardware related.
