My battery life experience and the stock battery

Got my phone on the 21st and today is the first day that I actually got good battery life. I have JuiceDefender and CPU Tuner running, but I think it's due to the fact that I finally started conditioning the battery. I usually charge it before it dies(around 20%-30%). I cycled it 3 times in the passed 2 days and each time, the battery life got better. Right now it's sitting at 37% with a up time of 12:40 with moderate usage. 4 of those hrs it was sleeping, but no battery what so ever drained while it was sleeping, which is a first since I got it.

If I see one more charging or condition method, I'm going to scream LOL. But I really don't have time to be fooling around with conditioned and cycling. That's not happening here.

Like I said in an earlier post, I adjusted the phone settings to my liking and installed JD beta and was getting pretty good battery. I thought it was the JD beta that was helping me. Then I was being told to get rid of it and my battery would be even better but I didn't want to listen. So the other day I removed JD beta and kept my adjustmentsa on my phone. My battery has in fact been better since removing JD beta.

I know, right. I just decided to stop looking at the battery percentage thing (obsessively) and do what I want. If I use GPS, blutooth, navigation, etc, I'm in the truck and plug in the phone. If I notice my battery is at a really low point I plug it in to the charger while I'm in the gym and don't use the phone anyway. etc., etc., etc. Like now I'm at 11 hrs uptime, 2 hrs awake time and still at 80% battery getting ready to head home from work.

Lucky! My battery has been fine until today and I hope this does not continue. I took my phone off of the charger at 12 PM and now at 4 PM the battery is at 40%. I only used the display for about 15 minutes (or so it says), music for 10 minutes, internet for less than 3 minutes, no bluetooth or Wi-Fi. On a 4G network at the time so it was a battery hog. But the extended battery is unacceptable to me due to it's extended size and it's unacceptable that my battery drained so quickly. I hope that's just bad luck because I can't believe that.

I guess it's a good thing I bought the car dock LOL.

my TB is having battery reporting issues. I'm using the extended battery, but on a restart of the phone it'll go from saying I have 99% battery to 90%. Anyone else having this issue?

Any free apps in the market that shows your percentage in the status bar. The one I used with my EVO isn't free anymore. Just wondering if anyone knew of one.

Okay guys, I'm practically convinced at this point: The phone's radio is bugged and is absorbing a tremendous amount of power.

Taking even a total of 30 minutes of phone calls? It's practically guaranteed that your phone calls will represent the #1 slot on your battery use. Yes, even more than that massive 4.3" screen all day long.

Now, occasionally I've noticed in certain areas that my phone will register 900+ mA drain on CurrentWidget. This is enough of a drain to visibly drop %s of battery while you're using it. Nothing suspicious shows up in the integrated battery use log. I've turned off mobile data and it no longer does that. In fact, I'm sitting at nearly 6h off the charger and my battery is at 88%. There is no way in hell that 3g mobile data should make that big of a difference. It can't be searching for a 4g signal either... I have that turned off in my *#*#4636#*#* menu.

Thus, I'm convinced this is a bug. It only happens in certain areas (not necessarily where I have bad service, though).

I hate to say it, because you shouldn't have to do this... but turn off mobile data when you aren't using it ... maybe toggle it on and off once in awhile to check your mail until HTC/Verizon releases new radio firmware to fix this. The wifi radio doesn't use much power either, so that's safe to use when available. I'd be shocked if they aren't already aware of this problem (it seems extremely easy to discover).

Why? Is it because you don't want to go through conditioning or cycling or because it's a bunch of crap? Confused.

11 hours with 4G turned off. 10% display. Tdown push off ( 10min) Email set at 10min. 3 calls. moderate use.

I have the mobile network on with 9 hrs of up time and 2 hrs of awake time and just hit 89%. I was calling and texting those two hours and showed off Google Goggles to someone.

EDIT: quick charged it twice; 5 minutes both times driving from work to lunch with wife and then lunch back to work.

Because I feel like people shouldn't have to go through all that to make it through the day. And there are so many different methods that people use so seeing a bunch of posts with people telling how long they charged it, when they turned it back off, how long they played with it before they charged it again just makes your head spin. Thus making me want to scream

I just want to make sure this is clear: only in certain areas does my phone go crazy and pull 900+mA. Maybe it's tower related? I don't know. I do know that disabling mobile data 100% solves the problem.

At/nearby my house I can use mobile data just fine and it never gives me any issue

More or less, I'm hoping that the people with battery life issues will try this and confirm if this helps them.

What SHOULD it be draining?
