They are even advertising it on their website.

The shroud of secrecy is laughable and a lame excuse for customer relations.

Easy answer: We were shipped 20, 5 have been reserved by pre-order, and the remaining 15 will be available on a first come, first served basis tomorrow morning when we open.

Done.

It's not that tough...it's retail for cripes sake, you're not operating a particle collider.

Not that simple. You admit to having them in stock there will be a lot of customers who will go out of their way and pester you to try and get one early, and you can't tell them to "Bugger off" because if you do, all they have to do is complain to management and you'll get in trouble for doing your job.

That's the second rule of retail: Customers can be petty, but if they complain, management will usually take their side because of the giant lie of "the customer is always right" (Customers are always right, an individual customer can be dead wrong)

You're right, it shouldn't be tough. but when a customer assumes they can get whatever they want if they scream loud enough, It's not simple.

Went to Best Buy at lunch they said they are waiting for the UPS truck so they don't know when they will get them in.. LMAO

That is hilarious to me you ship to your stores they day of the release not say the day before so your employees can log them in inventory setup a shelf and/or display and basically I don't know prepare for people who want to buy them..

I'm starting to think there are stores which haven't updated their inventory that are selling it. EVERYTHING near me has shown nothing in stock all morning yet I know people that have gone and picked it up.

Maybe they were pre-order sales.

When i checked BBs inventory online there were none available but checked back later and it changed to available. Knowing they were getting a limited number I quickly bought a 32GB model for store pick up. After I got there they still had no clue and couldn't find it. Finally they located it and I was on my way. That place is frustrating to say the least.

Thank god for Frys. I was at bestbuy before they were open and they said they did not have it in stock and I even have them checked other stores, not one of them have it so I went to Frys and got the metallic grey 32 GB and they have a lot in stock. I'm in Houston BTW.
