My phone will never replace my laptop but I seem to use my phone for basic use before I use my laptop. Did that make sense? I think I confused myself. Nevermind.....
I guess it depends how you use a smartphone, but in my opinion there are times when a traditional PC is a must and no Smartphone can replace that.
I would disagree, I haven't had a pc in over a year. When my ageing laptop finally gave up the ghost I took a long look at what I was using it for (mainly media and web browsing) and decided to switch to a tablet, haven't looked back since. Both of my children have netbooks but the only time I have been forced to fall back onto one of them was when I had to transfer some music onto my wife's iPhone (which has now been replaced by a HTC One woohoo!).
My tablet does seem to have gotten slower recently though...............
Works for you because you don't do anything productive, if all you do is consume media, it's fine. For others a pc is a must.

If your laptop has an SSD like mine no phone can replace it.....is that my 1080p 40" tvs resolution now looks ****e, and my 8gb ram laptop now feels slow as hell. Spoilt.

True/ but SSD's are just as fast, if not faster then phones. I know there are other factors in play thoughYa, I'd didn't say it replaced it, just made it feel crap to use

SSDs are great. I put one in my self-built Windows 7 machine and it friggin' flies.
