My Bluetooth is showing connected and the audio plays through phone speakers, how do I get it to play through my Bluetooth?

I have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything. This is really annoying, Lollipop in general has been a bug-filled mess for me... Any solutions?

What type of do you have? This is a very annoying problem on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and what I usually do is forget the network, turn off the speaker and then I try to connect again sometimes works sometimes it dosent but its one way I have fixed it temporarily. Hope this helps and that you can find a more permanent way to deal with this situation.
