My calendar has changed

Up to now my S7 calendar, set to month view, has filled the page and appointments for a given day were indicated by a word or two next to the day in question.

Now the calendar fills only half the page, with a blue line under a day with an appointment and the details of the appointment(s) listed in the bottom half of the page.

I actually like this better, but wonder how the change occurred. Did I inadvertently tweak something, or was there an update?

Also it's now called "Calendar" whereas before it was called "S-planner." Wasn't it?

Did you update to Nougat recently? If so, that's what did it. Also, I don't think it's been S-Planner in a while (since the Note 5 I think).

I did update to Nougat a couple of weeks ago, and the calendar change just happened today. Maybe Nougat has been beavering away in the background changing things little-by-little??

I am not sure if this is what you are talking about, but swiping up or down on the screens shown toggles it back and forth. If I am completely off base, I apologizeツ

Not off base at all, LineKill. That's exactly what happens. I must have inadvertently swiped and changed the view.
