So I took a picture, then mounted my phone and noticed the picture was not in the 100media folder.

Then I unmounted the phone, pressed the camera button and it tries to load then completely closes.

I tried erasing the DCIM folder and restarting (a couple times actually) and it still doesn't work. It doesn't work no matter what app I open the camera from (the camera app, the picture app or the camcorder app).

Help please!!

Thank you, but the camera decided to start working again on its own...

Technology, can't live with it, pass the beer nuts.

this happened to my pre a while back, i was taking pictures and on one of the pictures it completely froze the camera, i was unable to use it or view the picture i took. I eventually lost the picture but a simple reboot resolved the issue. When i connected it to the computer the file was corrupted so i couldn't use it. i guess it just happens....

:p did you just reboot the phone and try again or what?

I restarted a couple times, but then I also erased the DCIM folder. In my limited experience with Linux, if there is a directory a program uses, and that directory gets messed up in some way, just erase it and the program will remake the directory in a standard way.

I restarted after that and it still didn't work. After about 10 minutes I tried again and it did.

Hope this helps for posterity.

Mine did this after I did the first update from out of the box.. I messed with it, everything was fine, came home and prompted me for the update, so I did it and then once it fired up after the update, the camera didn't want to work. Camera logo would flash on the screen but nothing would pop up. So I pulled the battery, held the power down for a couple seconds to drain any residual power still left in the phone, waited about 30sec - 1min, popped the battery back in and the camera worked again. Didn't have to reset anything.
