1. Are they supposed to light up especially at night when one presses one of those 4 buttons?

or

2. Are they not supposed to light up?!

i.e., Is there no backlight for the icons of the 4 physical keys of the Samsung Droid Charge? (I would be surprised if there's not as Samsung Level 2 just told me 'cause I have seen them lit but intermittently and rarely!)

otherwise so far so good since June 26th except for battery life with 4g LTE and 3g is very slow in NYC

Thanks all! -- also

On the speed of 3g on this:
I wonder how this will change with more 4G LTE users as time goes on -- cause it is way fast now but 3g = .68 - 1.2 MBps yes point six eight MBps speed on this thing in CDMA mode in NYC and 4G is 7-21MBps

Wow 30Mbps cool. BUT, fellow citizen, please tell me IF your physical 4 keys at the bottom of the Samsung Droid Charge light up for you.....esp. at night/darkness

My keys light up when I press the side key. Fastest I've seen in Dallas is 26Mps

They light up according to how dark it is I think. So if you are in a dim room they should light up, if you are in the sun they should not light up.

My keys light up automatically when its dark. I don't know what the threshold of light that triggers the keys to light up since I haven't experimented around

Now if we could only make them light up for notifications.

That would actually be a great idea; they should incorporate it into the next version of noLED. Also, does anyone encounter the buttons' backlights staying on after you shut the phone down? o.o

BLN already exists even making it into Voodoo releases, and it does exactly this just not for the Charge yet. It may not be possible to hook into the button backlights without getting down to the kernel level.

i feel the same pain when in a "3g" area. always less than 1mbps. so much slower than my old ATT 3g iphone. is verizon's 3g supposed to be that slow?
