Android Central Question

My Chromebook has never had any problems before recently; I can do things on it, and close it for a few minutes and then open it, and it wakes up just fine. But lately, whenever I close it for the day and put it on the charger, or just close it for a few hours in general, I can't wake it up by opening it. I have to force restart it in order to get the screen to come on. This only happened after the recent update. Are the two related? What can I do? I'd like to avoid factory resetting if possible. If it comes down to it though, as a last resort, I guess I'll do it.

Welcome to Android Central! Which Chromebook? Updates can sometimes cause some glitches on specific devices. Make sure to send feedback to Google (in Settings>About ChromeOS>Report an Issue), and also send feedback to the Chromebook manufacturer as well. You might have to wait until the next update to see if they fixed the issue.

Also, you're on the Stable channel, and not Beta or Dev channel, right?

The beauty of Chromebooks is that even if you do a Powerwash, you can be up and running with your previous setup within 10-15 minutes.
