my contacts (app?) are gone!

hello all, i am new to the android forums. well last week a friend of mine updated my phone to froyo and with superclean. i personally don't know anything about this phone.. i'm tryin to figure it out but it's frustrating me.

all is good but today for some reason my contacts won't load up. i kept clicking the contacts button on my home screen but said:

"Sorry! - Use *W#9900# to take log - The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

then i deleted the shortcut and tried to add another one but it's not under the list of apps/shortcuts. messaging is still there, but not contacts. if i click the call button and try to go to contacts from there it still gives me an error. my contacts aren't actually deleted, just the app thing. any help is appreciated.

Are you familiar with any of the processes that your friend used to put Froyo on your phone? -

App names: Clockwork Mod Recovery? or Odin?

This happened to me one day. Completely random to. Just an hour before that I had no problems. All the advice I can give you is to just reflash the version of super clean your on or to the newest version.(not sure what version your on) you can find all the threads right here on how toes, dos and dont's of flashing. Use the search function. I'd post the links but I'm at work and on my phone if you need more help I'd be glad to help you.

You are on the right path. A reinstall of the ROM usually resolves this problem.

yeah he used odin. i'm confused on the whole odin program.

well first of all.. my comp doesn't recognize my phone. i got win7 64bit. i been looking for some drivers but i can't find them.

anyway.. do i need to use odin to use superclean or what? i'm usually good with stuff like this but i have no idea how these phones work.

Go down about a quarter of the the way down the first post and you'll see a link for drivers. Install the 64 bit. Since your not sure exactly what he put on your phone, I'd go the odin route. All the info you need is in the link above. Any more questions let me know

hey! thanks for the help. we reflashed it and now everything is workin again. also i finally got my phone to connect to my comp correctly. i'm going to try and check out some themes now... where's the best place to look?
