My daughter just called and is mad. Asked me if I had any smartphone laying around because she is done with Verizon and her TBolt and not being able to connect to the Internet. I told her I only have my old Samsung OMNIA. I told her I could fix it for her but but she said "Sorry, Dad you doing your little HACK isn't going to fix it". Isn't it funny how kids just have this ability to know everything.

She said "Every since Gingerbread I have had problems". I told her I can take it back down to FROYO. She is on her 4th TBolt (long story) because in her words "These other ones suck". She got hers before I got mine and other than me getting a new one because my screen cracked, my TBolt has worked absolutely perfect!

I am thinking her problem is the radio's.

She is sooooooo impatient I can't begin to tell you. That is what is wrong with this younger generation (well, younger than me....47), impatient. They expect everything to work out perfectly for them without putting in any effort. I am going to recommend she get a idiot proof phone....iPhone

So, I am going to upgrade hers tonight...I am thinking FOREVER or FOREVER CUBED.

Anyone have experience dealing with a 20 year old cheerleader that thinks she knows everything?......LOLOL.

All I can say is if she cant let you work on her tbolt and put the latest leak which seems to be working very well for everyone that I know installed it then let her TRY the other side and the Iphone. She will most likely come back over. Alot of my friends did.

They have the newest tbolt gb leak for non rooted & rooted phones. If you need I can provide links to the rooted version (and previous/current radios)....

My wife's like that. Somehow no matter what phone she's ever had whether its an Android or some other smartphone, something always goes wrong with them. Sometimes it makes you wonder if its actually something wrong with the phone or the user. The fact that she throws her phone everytime she gets pissed off probably doesn't help. :p

I'm running Forever and still have the data drop problems. I've had to resort to keeping my phone on CDMA to avoid the issue.

Idiot proof phone = feature (dumb) phone! LOL ;) Seriously though, I strongly believe many people have no business with a smartphone period! (Not saying that here though :))

I do agree though that the younger generation can be impatient. Heck, even older generations (of which I am) can be impatient. We really are spoiled! Aren't we? (rhetorical) :) Regardless though, it is unfortunate because there is a lot of truth to the old axiom, "Good things come to those who wait", or "Patience is a virtue". Many of these "problems" can be easily fixed with a little patience and knowledge on why it's happening (bigger picture view, ex. new LTE network has some inherent bugs still being worked out) and how to work around it. :)

Thank you. I have the ones from Android Police that I flashed to last month and I have BAMF Forever 1.0.9 running on mine like a charm. But, please send the links anyways, I can always use the files.

Cyber.....LOLOLOL. The story with my daughter's frist Tbolt return was that after the first April OTA it wouldn't hold a 4G connection. The 2nd phone was the same thing, the 3rd phone, the camera wasn't working, and finally she is on the 4th one. My observation is:

1. First phone could have been a lemon since she did get it the first day they went on sale, plus she is impatient

2. Second phone might have been a crappy refurb, but she was probably impatient.

3. Third phone, that I think was a truly defective phone, but with a ROOT, could have been fixed, but she was impatient

Conclusion: She is impatient!

I have had data drops with my TBolt, but nothing to cry about, which she did, and cuss out VZW, which she did. I might have to drug her, and while she is out, root her phone and install BAMF.....LOLOL.

I think she doesn't trust me...the same Dad that taught her how to drive, the same dad that fixes her computer, the same Dad that helped create her.....only thing she has on me....a bazillion self portraits on Facebook......LOLOLOL

I've been running the new GB update 605.5 and its working great. No data drops. I'm in Sacramento, CA and work in Roseville. Strong LTE connection in both areas. Try 605.5.

For what it's worth, Verizon network, especially if on 3G has been horrible lately. I'm not blaming the Thunderbolt.

(the i4s perhaps...?)

Honestly though, I have noticed numerous data drops the past few weeks when in 3G coverage areas (4G LTE seems to be fine).

I can't blame her, the fact it takes rooting and customizing just to make this phone tolerable is pathetic.

I'm not done testing 605.5 yet, but so far so good. Unlike the other leaked RUUs I've been using this one has been submitted by VZW to Google.

maybe this smartphone is too smart for her? j/k For those who find things to always seem to have problem i do think they should go the apple route. If you wanna spite her, tell her she's getting a new Razr. Then give her one of those old flip phones =D

I'm impatient, and my iPad2 (won, not paid for, thank God) drives me batsh.. crazy. I'm 45 & tech-savvy, though, so quite different from an iDrone. Still, we all know that a solid android phone will kick the iPhone's ass, so read the reviews and buy the poor girl something decent.

It isn't the phone. It is the network having issues. And young people today don't have patience and that is a fact. I also don't know why they can't be happy with what they have. No phone is perfect.....and there are quirks but it really isn't the phone. Verizon also recognizes the kinks in the network and it is going to take time to get them worked out.

JUDE....you are so right, kids are way way way impatient these days....fast food generation...instant gratification.

She came over last night....heck I even made dinner and still she wouldn't let me fix it. I told her it might be a radio (she said "Dad, I don't listen to the radio on my phone"). After the beer shot through my nose, I explained what the radio is. She still didn't let me work on her phone. She complained and huff and puffed and said "This phone sucks"....(all the while facebooking and texting).

It would have taken me no more than an hour to complete the job.....she could have watched "Jersey" Shore" while I did.

What is funny, we both have TBolts and mine is working like a charm.
