My device is not been detected when connected to USB

when i connected my device to my laptop with the help of USB cable it is not detecting my device so what should i do??

Welcome to Android Central! Which device do you have? Have you tried different cables, or plugging into a different USB port? Are you sure you have the latest USB driver installed?
