On my Android Samsung phone I have The default "My Files" from Samsung. When I open My Files, under STORAGE it says "Google Drive"that when clicked takes you straight to my Google Drive. I see no way of removing that from My Files. I also have the app/link called Drive under Google that when clicked does the same thing. I do not have to put in a username or password. I use Google Drive very often and having to put in a username and password would be cumbersome. My phone has two step authentication to get inside but I've seen my son get past that on many phones, computers and laptops easily. I don't want to lose my phone and have someone be able to get in and access everything on my phone, especially my Google drive. My whole world and some extremely private things are on my phone. Is there any way that I can click either one of those links and get into Google Drive easily without putting in my username and password every time or going to the website and putting in my username and password every time? Could I possibly set up a four digit PIN to enter? I would really appreciate the help very much. I think anyone in advance for helping me. And I'm open to several responses and possibilities. Sincerely, Matt.

The key thing about phone security is to make sure it's not easy for anyone besides yourself to unlock the phone itself. What kind of phone security do you have? Fingerprint, face ID, PIN? Do you have it set to lock automatically soon after the screen has gone idle, like after 15-30 seconds? These are reliable ways to prevent other people from accessing your sensitive information, if your phone ends up in the wrong hands. And it goes without saying that you should avoid letting anyone else you don't trust handle your phone.

You could consider a 3rd party app locker, but I wouldn't necessarily trust them, because (a) you're potentially allowing that 3rd party to access your apps, and (b) if something goes wrong with the app locker, you might have difficulty accessing the apps. That's why it's best to make sure your phone itself is as secure as it can be.

So in My Files app to remove your sign in just clear the apps Data under storage and force stop it and it removes Google drive sign in , another thing while your in the beginning page of My Files app if you tap the 3 dots upper right corner tap settings>select edit menu layout you can select what shows on the home page of My Files just don't highlight the selection there.
The other thing is using Secure Folder for extra layer of protection with pin or password.

Hey Matt, If you want to access Google Drive on your Samsung phone without having to enter your password every time, you might want to try using Google Smart Lock for password management. It can make access easier while still keeping things secure with two-step authentication. Another option is to set a screen lock PIN or use biometric features like fingerprint or facial recognition for added security. You can check the settings in "My Files" and the Google Drive app for options to enable PINs or biometric authentication. These steps can help keep your phone and data safe while still making it easy to get to Google Drive.

Wow! That is some great information. I live by myself and have no family and only a couple friends that I see ever so often. The reason I'm worried about all this is because I'm on disability for major health problems. I've had four heart attacks and tons of other stuff. And now they think I have cancer. What I'm afraid of is if I was to drop dead with my phone on or being a hospital and suddenly die with my phone on, I don't want anyone, especially my grown children to get my phone. And my youngest son has a master's degree and I've seen him get into everything without no trouble. It's because I have so many personal things on my phone that I don't want no one to see if I was to die. I also have it set up to double tap the screen to turn it off. But if my phone was sitting on a table and something happened to me I would like to be able to say hey Google turn off phone or even say hey Google do a factory reset and everything would be deleted. I use PIN on my lock screen. I actually set the screen timeout to 10 minutes because I'm up and down and always on my phone and I don't want to always have to be logging in. It doesn't have a never feature. I wish Google drive would offer a PIN because my password is too long and I'm constantly in Google drive for many things. It holds a lot of personal stuff that I wouldn't want anyone to read especially my children who are all grown. If I go in and delete the storage to get rid of it out of my files it will erase everything in Google drive. I don't want to do that. And I don't want to use a third-party app and I definitely don't trust Google apps enough to be my protector of passwords and everything else. I'm sorry my reply is so long but my gratitude goes out to all of you, especially B Diddy. Those are some great ideas that I'm going to look into. If you think of anything else I would appreciate so much that if you have the time you could pass it on to me. And just to be clear, it's not like I have porn or naked pictures and stuff like. I've been a preacher teacher for 35 years. Most of it is legal stuff and and things about my children and ex-wife who left me 6 years after 28 years of marriage because of my health. And go figure. Now she's a nurse practitioner. She was having an affair at the end too and I have a lot of videos and pictures of that. And recordings of phone calls. I have so many passwords and I keep them in Google drive because I can't remember all that stuff. That's one of the reasons I'm constantly getting into Google drive. I'm kind of new at this so I'm going to try to grade you guys and do what I think it wants me to do. But I think every one of you very much.

Sincerely,
Levi Shepherd
