AC Question

Hi, thanks for any guidance about this . . .
My Droid Turbo, bought in November 2014, will not respond to a wired selfie stick. (the selfie stick immediately works with my wife's iPhone 6)
I've seen suggestions here that direct me to go to the settings in the camera app, tap on the volume icon, and set it to shutter.
However, in the settings of my camera app there are only two options when tapping the volume icon - shutter sound on or shutter sound off. I don't see any way to make my phone respond to the wired selfie stick (plug inserted into headphone jack).
Help?

Welcome to Android Central! When you open the Camera app, go to its settings -- that's usually where the option is to set the Volume button as the shutter release.

Also, was the selfie stick advertised as "made for iPhone"? iPhone headphone jacks may be slightly different from certain Android devices, so it might not be compatible.
