My Fascinate issues

I received my phone on Wednesday and hope to replace my iPhone 3G with it. I haven't been able to try out everything, but here are the issues I'm having so far.

Cannot connect by USB. I have tried on a Windows XP computer and a Windows 7 computer. I tried every USB driver that I could find. I tried as mass storage, media sync, mounted, unmounted. Verizon tech support tells me that it is a known issue that they are working on. Since I don't own a micro SD card reader, I have not been able to load any media on the phone.

Email does not automatically update. I set both accounts to 5 minutes, but it doesn't work. K9 Mail seems to fix this problem. I set up my email accounts with K9 and disabled updating in the default email program.

Daily Briefing widget does not update automatically. I set everything to update every 30 minutes, but it doesn't work. It only updates when I hit the refresh button. Is there a good replacement widget that works?

I downloaded the driver for my Windows 7 computer last night, from the Samsung website. Go here, and select the 'Software' tab near the bottom of the page.

Those are odd issues. My XP and Win7 boxes both recognized the SD card immediately. I only had to install the Samsung driver to root the F.

Let us know if the driver helps. If not, maybe Disk Management is assigning a drive letter that's already in use.

the problem I'm having is: how do I transfer pictures and video already saved on my phone, to the Fascinates micro sd card?

I tried that but couldn't get it to work. Which file did you select for the Fascinate?

I tried every .inf file, and every time it says "This device cannot start." I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 if that makes any difference.

It turns out that the Y-cable kept it from working with Windows 7.

Now it magically works on XP also.
