My first Note: Stylus Skipping Question

I bought my first Note last week when the 5 was released. So far I'm loving the phone but the stylus seems to become unresponsive for short periods of time. Sometimes it skips during writing, and other times when I am scrolling with it in a web page or trying to click on a particular spot, it is completely unresponsive. Then after about 5-10 seconds, everything is perfect again.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as I don't know if it is the digitizer in the screen, the stylus, something I'm doing wrong, or maybe it is normal. When it goes unresponsive, it is everywhere on the screen, not just a particular spot. Then I use my fingers and it works well. Then I return to the stylus and it works well again.

See if you need to push the tip in.
Try a different tip that came with the phone.

Do you have a screen protector on? If so, which one? Is it with one app or all?

Yeah do you have a screen protector on the phone? that used to impact my Note 3.

Sometimes as I'm trying to write i catch myself pushing the button on the pen and that will make it not write.

ive had that happen with the screen off feature.. i just put pen n and pop again then works..... i find it happens more often on my Tab A then on my note.

I don't have a screen protector and I don't push the button so it isn't those reasons. It happened to me big time today when I tried to write using the screen off function. It took about 5 seconds to get going again which is a long time when you are on the phone with somebody. It's like a pen without ink.

I still have until Friday to do an exchange which is why I'm thinking maybe I should try a different unit unless this is normal.
