Ohkay so i posted about this before but now im about to take the next step into fixing this problem. So i already factory reset like 3 to 4 times and ive noticed that even when factory reseting the phone gets scorching hot running through the setup part like the part above the battery and the top portion of the screen. Im not sure what the problem is but im planning on taking it down to t mobile or getting it repaired by lg....i kind of prefer returning it and getting a new one, i dont mind the wait, its just im worried of getting another bad product, has anyone returned their lg for overheating issues and when receiving a new unit has that problem been fixed? i just need to put my mind at ease before i send my phone away for a week or two.

*Update* I just checked the price for and lg repair and i think i just saw that its around $150 rate for out of warranty repair....so no. Getting a new phone is the only way to go, im going to call now, just someone help put my mind at ease :'(

My LG G4 has terrible overheating issues. I mean seriously HOT, especially while charging and doing simple tasks . it can't be good for the hardware. What email do you use to contact LG? I am also experiencing lag now. Like 5-6 seconds for the home to populate from Chrome. Let me know what you continue to find out.

Any update on this? I am having the same issue with my T-mobile LG G4, I've had it overheat and shut down on me twice in the past two days when navigating while charging. It also lags CONSTANTLY, to the point where it becomes unusable at times.

Unfortunately, I don't have a deterministic way to show this or else I would bring it directly into a T-mobile store.

I plugged my phone to my computer had to wait a little for phone to download drivers and connect; once it did i also got option to dowload LG Bridge. On LG Bridge there is an update phone tab and it said update available. I updated phone and it fixed all problems, overheating and touchscreen problems too. No longer misses touches when i tap knock code and all lags when i scroll up and down on webb are gone :)

im so sorry i havent been keeping up with this forum, man 3 months later and stillit get ery very hot to the toucch, i recently got a moto 360 and the lg g4 gets 3 times hoter than that little piece of tech which makes no sense :/, i thought the 808 chip was supposed to solve the problems, it gets too hot to even touch when i use the gps, also after 5 min of just video recording, even navigation it gets really hot which says alot, idk something needs to be done, ill try that lg bridge thing

ohkay so it says phone is up to date :/ sigh, thanks though, but im going to wait for android marhmallow and HOPEFULLY that saves this phone, i already have a backup battery to put in it cause i knw this overheating has destroyed the one now....just need that update to come out asap

I've noticed my LG g4 overheats when the display is up if you have It all the way down on 0% it doesn't heat up I think that the QHD LCD screen is too powerful for the hardware. It heats up around the camera a lot and drains the battery fast when just browsing.
