my galaxy player 5.0 is not regonized on my computer. i keep getting code 45. It turns on to the samsung screen then turns off and back on.

Welcome to Android Central! You're connecting via USB? Where do you see Code 45, on the player's screen? Are you saying that the player boots, you see the Samsung welcome screen, then it shuts off and reboots again?

Can you boot the player up by itself? If you can do that, then connect via USB and see if the problem persists.
