My galaxy s6 edge andriod os stays on at night and its killing my battery

How do you turn of the andriod os off when you not using the phone. I got to sllep with it at 100% and when i wake up its at 50%. The other night i went to sleep with it charging and in the morning it was super hot.

The only way to switch off the OS is to switch off the phone although losing 50% does seem a lot. Yes, batteries/phones get hot when charging. Just charge your phone overnight and not using fast charge will cut down some of the heat generated.
