My Galaxy S6 has a pink "lightning-like" flashing screen when turning display on

My Galaxy S6 will have a pink "lightning like" flashing screen on the RIGHT hand side of the screen across the whole edge. After about 5 seconds of this, it goes to the top of right corner and is just a small pink abnormally bright light. It does not flicker again unless i shut the screen off for at least 30 seconds, if i do then it does it again. Im worried it might be damaged, can someone help me out?
