My Galaxy S8 wont change my default map from google to waze

I followed all the steps to remove Google as the default app and try and make waze the default. Yet everytime I open my calendar and set a map, it still has it as google. What am I doing wrong.

Welcome to the forum. You mean Google Maps, not Google, right? You can remove Google. Which calendar you're using may make a difference, have you looked at it's settings to see if it sets a mapping default? If nothing else, you could install an app disabler and disable GMaps entirely. Not sure how that would play out with the rest of the phone though.
