My Galaxy Tab 3 with neither charge nor turn on, how can I get this to work?

Galaxy Tab 3 with neither charge nor turn on.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. In what is apparently a relatively common inconvenience, the Tab will neither charge nor turn on, even when plugged in. The battery was adequately charged before it was shut off and this problem began. Every dyi fix I find requires the original charger, which I no longer have. Is there some sort of way to fix this problem without the original Tab charger? Or, if not, is there an easy, cheap replacement I can find and where?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried other charging cables/wall plugs? Make sure you keep it plugged in a wall outlet for at least 4 hours before trying to power on again.

If that doesn't help, then it might be a defective battery or motherboard. That would require a visit to a repair shop.
