my glaxy s3 asked for updates and then things changed is this normal ?

hi evreyone
i am happy to be here

recently my galaxy s3 asked for an update so i updated it by wifi
but small changes happened spicefclly two changes
the first one was thta the quick call icon that came with each name in the call log is no longer avalable
the second is that the notification that tells me that i have entered a headphone dosent apper any more
i just put the headphone and it works without the notification

and by the way the update was to android 4.0.4
so is all of this normal ?
