My GN2 stopped syncing Emails

Over the past week or two, my Note2 has stopped syncing and downloading my email accounts. All of them. Gmail, Hotmail, RoadRunner, they all have stopped checking and downloading new emails. I have blocking set from between 9pm and 6am week days and have had it this way since I got my phone a year ago.

It will download them when I go to the individual account and tap the Sync button but it's stopped automatically doing it.


Any ideas where I need to look to figure this out? I checked the blocking settings and it seems OK. The only thing I have set on that is Notifications and the LED between 9p and 6a. I have the Peak time scheduled to run between 8am and 7pm 7 days/week and to download every 30 minutes. Off Peak, set to Never. I checked the individual accounts settings and they all have the Sync Email checked and also Download attachments checked with the same Peak/Off Peak setting applied. Again, this has worked flawlessly since November last year when I bought my phone.

I'm out of ideas and need help. I need to have my emails sent to me when they are available and not hours later when I think to go individually and tap sync.

do this as a test -

1. remove all blocking.
2. delete all email accounts.
3. re-enter all email accounts.
4 soft reset.

then test. good luck.

Well, besides the possibility that your Note 2 wants you to upgrade to a Note 3 you may need to double check and ensure that you have synching enabled up in the notification bar



This is from a S IV but I think the Note 2 has a similar toolbar.

Thanks. Something I noticed also under the Settings area.

Under Email, it shows the Gmail and RoadRunner accounts and says Syncing on both are disabled. Yet, under the individual accounts settings for each email account, it shows that syncing is set.
The strange thing is that it doesn't show the Hotmail account. Could that be because it is setup as an Exchange server account instead of an POP account like the others?

Ooop! I just looked and it was off. I tapped it and I'll wait and see if it works now. Thanks.

I'm betting that's the problem. Awhile back my phone went into critical low state and probably shut down most everything on it to conserve battery power.

I'm still very new to Android and have a lot to learn still.

Thank You. that was a quick fix. No sooner had I typed the response to the previous post, the emails were all downloading.
