So my Gnex which is rooted and flashed with JBsourcery 2.3 isn't seeing my SD card folder and it's contents. I can navigate through the folder using astro, and view pictures, and play music. However the folder isn't being recognized by the device. No pictures are being loaded into the gallery, and no music is being added to the media player. I wen't back to recovery and tried to mount/unmount the sd card to see if that was holding it up, but it didn't seem to do anything. Anyone have a solution or something I might of missed?

TLDR: My Gnex isn't seeing my SD card folder.

Do you use Rom Manager? If so, look into the "No Media" bug that hit a little while back. Apparently, there was an improperly placed file that makes google not recognize any media.

I think if you update Rom Manager that might fix it. I also deleted it to make sure, and I haven't had any problems.

Either way, you may need to do more leg work (manually finding and deleting the "No Media" file) if this is the issue.

Good luck.

Yeah I know about that bug as well and didn't find it in my filing system, and yes I did show all hidden files and folders. I removed rom manager completely and it still didn't work. Inside JB tool's I installed a no media mod fix that apparently would do it, nope still nothing. As far as debugging goes I had it on, turned it off, tried to connect it to my computer to see if that would do it and I don't even see my folders in the phone when it's connected to usb, all I see is a folder named notifications. I just wiped cache, dalvik cache, data, and reloaded sourcery, still no media.

Now the .nomedia file SHOULD be on the root of the sdcard0 folder correct? or is it rogue and just go anywhere in the file?

I'm pretty sure that it should be in the root folder, but when I had the issue I ended up doing a factory reset as well (by accident :-\) so I never had to search it out.

Yeah it's not in the root, I'm lost on this one. I can't even navigate my folders on windows. Going back to cyanogen. Thanks for the help.

UPDATE: I found the .nomedia files! they were NOT in the root of the SD card, but rather spread out in many different folders, primarily the Android folder. There were about 6 in total installed across the filing system. After deleting them all, clearing cache for google music player and gallery and a quick reboot, I'm rocking again. Good thing I checked further, I really like the customizing options for JBsourcery.
