My impressions with the samsung epic 4g

tv out WORKS thru 3.5mm to RCA Tv OUT... Whats the Problem??????

We have no idea if the Epic hardware supports it. Samsung removed the TV-out settings after a recent update to reviewers. The hardware SHOULD and probably DOES support it, but for now, there's no official confirmation.

WTF.. isn't a simple confirmation is to look at the box and/or manual of the review units to see if it mentions TV-OUT?

Why would Samsung make a video out cable if the phone does not have video out capability? This thread is the first I heard of this feature being removed, and without further proof, I will continue to beleive that video out via a cable will be supported by Samsung.

They may disable that as well. But its not just the USB to HDMI, but also the 3.5mm to composite feature that I like. Granted HDMI is a more used standard now, but sometimes I fine myself in a situation where HDMI is not present and having that way to connect would prove VERY useful. I have wanted this phoen since the first leaked picture, and today I have my first doubts about wanting this phone. The more I hear about crippling the phone the more I feel that the moment I have will do just fine until it is either a) ironed out and fixed or b) another qwerty high end android device comes out. Granted the moment isnt a great phone, but rooted and setup the way I have it it does everything I need well enough (just not everything I want).

The GPS issue is only a problem if it effects sprint nav and the video out not being present is a HUGE con for the phone and currently making me not want the phone if its not a launched option.

For goodness sakes, Engadget change there mind about the GPS issue! When that happens, and you're having a problem, then you know you're doing something wrong.
