My last big phone

The G6 is right around the corner your wishes might come true. The V10 is still pretty solid...I had it for a couple of months before moving on to the G5 with the B&O DAC (with the recent price drop you can pick up both the H860N & DAC at a bargain on ebay).
I do miss the large display on the V10 & the rubber texture grip on the back.
Since you've owned both, could you help me decide between the two? I've decided that the V20 is just too expensive for my budget and it isn't practical for me to rush out and buy the newest phones on the market, especially when I'd be coming from a G3 and G4 so pretty much everything is an upgrade.

How's the performance of the V10 compare to that of the G5? I feel like the biggest deciding factors between these two phones is do I want a faster processor more or do I want a bigger screen more? I feel like the G4 could have performed better with the SD808 and reviews seem to make me believe that the V10 is a better performer with that same processor, however the G5 has the SD820 and I feel like that's guaranteed snapiness...

Both phones carry similar prices now unlocked... Just don't know if I should go big or go fast.

Why not look at the G5? Side by side with the V20, the specs are nearly identical and it's hundreds of dollars less. Unless you must have the audio capabilities of the V20, the G5 is probably a better buy. V20 would be perfect for someone who wants a bigger phone.

Edit: should have read replies before commenting XD
Too many build quality issues with the G5 and lacks the audio/video controls of the V20 which are a huge bonus to me. And the DAC is built in. No need for a separate module. And the battery removal mechanism is not user friendly but otherwise the G5 would be the phone for me.

Honestly, LG had the winning card.
The V20 is near perfct (it lacks only ff speakers for me)
But it ruined it with the price, same as google did with the pixel

It's a tough choice. I would go and play with both phones in person. A retail carrier shop should have both on display.

The V10 does have a very nice premium feel (one of best) & you really don't need to get a case for it, and more importantly you have more screen area to play with. The G5 is noticeably quickier, smaller, better battery life & better audio with the codecs or the Hifi DAC. Keep in mind...with the screen size...once you go big, it's hard to go back.

I've had a chance to hold a V10 in a store before and I loved how it felt so no worries there. Battery life isn't an issue since I'll keep a second fully charged one with me. I'm just mostly worried about whether or not I'll later wish I opted for the SD820 instead.

What the hell?! I literally asked for this and LG has to be the most misinformed company with their business tactics lately. Why keep this a secret and exclusive to Japan? Should I wait for this? And more importantly, how can I get to LG headquarters and who do I need to slap around to make this a more widespread launch? They just need to hire me to make these decisions.lol http://www.phonearena.com/news/The-...n-of-the-LG-V20-but-you-cant-have-one_id86703

LG just doesn't understand how marketing works. You have both Apple and now Google offering the same device in two sizes. Even Samsung gives you what is essentially the same phone in multiple sizes. Meanwhile LG says go big or go home. Or go to Japan.

Exactly. I actually could not believe as I was reading the article. LG has done so many things wrong with this V20 launch that I would seriously consider abandoning the company altogether but alas the V20 is here and It's real.

Well... It took me 3 days to be able to talk to corporate. They don't want you to be able to call and discuss anything with them. They really don't give a tinkersass about anything that you have to say. They want you to go through their stupid customer service 1 800 number to try to get anything fixed or questions answered by people who can barely understand you let alone speak in a discernable voice back to you... Oh and don't hold your breath waiting for a call back..

As good as some of their phones are I refuse to go through that again..

LG has terrible customer service. Love their phones, hate their service. I ordered a couple of G3 batteries from them recently that never arrived. I waited a couple weeks just thinking they were slow to ship since I never got a tracking number. Called them and they said it was delivered and that there was nothing they could do since I didn't call sooner.

If you're buying from a carrier, you won't have to to deal with LG. When my G4 boot looped, T-Mobile sent a phone in two days. When the replacement boot looped, they sent another phone in one day.

I just feel like LG is terrible at communication. That's their problem. When I had to replace my LG Tone headset, it was as simple as filling out a form online, sending my headset back, then waiting for a new pair. So long as you don't require talking to someone, which is most scenarios, it's fine.

I'll happily get a V20, but will get service from wherever I bought it from, not LG.

...needs stylus.... <she muttered almost incoherently> ...LG has a stylus, they put it in their cheap Stylo... not in the v20... WHY, LG... Why???

I'd prefer a removable battery personally, but it is a bummer
