My LG G3 encrypted itself. Any solutions on how to get though to the password?

Re: My lg g3 encrypted itself. Any solutions on how to get thought the password. I didn't have one

I have asked everyone about a software unlock and no one has heard of it. What shop in India did you go to?

Ok so the same thing happened to me also. Im almost thinking someone somehow hacked my phone. I have the LG Stylo, it started a couple weeks ago and some of my apps started malfunctioning or not working at all, then my keyboard changed, then yesterday my phone reset out of nowhere and the 30/30 attempts password screen popped up. The Device Manager password reset idea would have been ideal, however, when I tried that it said my device could not be located. I tried the password reset anyway, and it said that it sent, however I still got nothing on my phone at all. I REALLY dont want to do a hard factory reset on it and lose everything I have on it, so PLEASE for the love of sweet breakfast meat, someone please help me out!!!!!

google all your options to find the best that fits your situation

I have the same issue with my LG V10. I never set a password on it and I actually didn't use it much but I do have sentimental valued info on it that I didn't finish backing up onto my computer. I read through the thread with different opinions and I'm doing some research myself to see what's best for my situation. I have 10 tries before it does a factory reset. I'm on my last try. So far googled PUK, Dr.Fone, LG Flash Tool, went on My Verizon account, tried through my gmail account that is linked but first tested it on my other LG V10 phone and it is BS (doesn't work). I'm looking through like a million sites and things I can download to get into my phone to break the lock. I considered paying a hacker (found a pro that will do it for $200 geekyryan) googled different ways I could hack it on my own (there is several ways), so far I think I'm gonna try flashing my phone if I can find a way.

I even paid tech pros (JetCounsel) but they only give you their opinions and answers they don't hack your phone for and change passwords.

I had just gotten the Lg G3about two months ago and my phone did the same thing to me... I also noticed that it says 30/30 attempts remaining; and no matter how many passwords are tested the number only goes down to 29/30 and then stops. I had called the Lg tech support and they said the best thing they could do is work on it or send me a new one, kind of sounds like that is the only way to solve this problem from my findings! Hopefully someone can find a solution but to all of you just as confused as I am; this is not a password that the owner sets; I believe it may be linked to some kind of virus or something

Mine is doing the exact same thing now. I went to bed and when i woke up, it was on my screen. Please tell me you've found a solution.

Found a solution.

Remove the battery.

Put the battery back.

Turn it on.

Wait for few seconds (mine keeps making a knock knock sounds with 2 or 3 seconds interval)

Put in the pin (phone still making a knock knock sounds with 2 or 3 seconds interval)

Keep the phone screen on by tapping the screen.

Viola it worked!

What passcode did you use?

Did anyone find a fix for this? My daughter's phone has just come up with the white screen and knock code on her lg k4. Barely anything out there about this. She's gonna go loopy

Something like this just happened to me too on my Galaxy J3 Prime. I was playing a game on my phone when the game suddenly froze. I waited a few seconds for it to unfreeze but then the phone suddenly restarted itself. When it came back up I saw a black screen saying the phone was encrypted and asking for a password. I was immediately suspucious because I don't use a password for my phone, just a lock screen pattern. I did not attempt to guess a password I didn't recall setting. Rather, I held the power button to make it restart again and this time it restarted normally. Any chance this is a virus or malware? Should I be concerned about my phone's safety??

I got the same exact issue.
My phobe died and when I plugged it into charge and restart I got this screen asking for password. I had no idea of which password since I don't use passwords on my phone. I tried all email password. I remove battery and sim card. I left it for a while to charge and try restarting again. I did the hard reset nothing. I press all the buttos to enter password and it will not pass 29 attepmts left no matter how many times I entered it incorrectly and finally I hard reset the device again.
Luckily I am a tech support and I always have my information backed up
The hard reset worked the second time around
To hard reset
Turn off device
Press and hold the power and volume down button
Release for 1 second and press and hold buttons again
Choose the option to reset device meaning erase everything.
It is always recommended to do a backup at least m every 2 weeks

Re: My lg g3 encrypted itself. Any solutions on how to get thought the password. I didn't have one

I was just watching netflix when my phone suddenly restarts by itself. At first the reset let me go through, then it restarted again. This time a white screen popped up asking for a pin/password to decrypt. I never had a password because I used a lock pattern. Now I tried everything to get to my phone, but it just stays on the same white screen asking for a passcode.

Did you find a solution to this problem? If so, could you please share with me?

Many thanks.

Sorry, learning how to use this page. Saw a bunch of people asking and wanted to share the answer.

I've read on a couple of forms where people have had the issue of their phone randomly rebooting and starting up to a lock screen that reads (something like):

Secure startup 1/25 attempts

If you use a pattern code to lock your phone, the pin number will be the digits that you're pattern lock follows.

I don't know how else to word it.

Say your pattern followed the corners to 7391, your secure startup pin would be 7536951
So if you use a very complex pattern, it will just be every digit used that the pattern follows.
