My LG G4 has become laggy after less than a year of use

I have an LG G4. It has become laggy lately. I have deleted lots of video, photos and other things that might clog the memory, but the lag continues. I have a whole bunch of app, some of which are usually idle. Would deleting them help? Perhaps, reformatting the phone? Please help.

Try clearing the cache if you haven't, that usually helps.

Factory reset should get it running like new again too, but that would be a last resort.
