My LG Tribute phone is frozen in bootup

[AC Question]

Last week, my Android LG Tribute phone froze mid activity. It was the Pay Lo version from Wal-Mart. I thought holding the volume and power buttons down to reboot would help. Which it usually did. This time, when the first boot up screen came up, it stayed stuck there for several minutes, eventually displaying three codes at the top of the screen that looked like it was trying to initialize something but failed to. Taking the battery out and replacing it didnt help, nor did a factory reset. Please advise.
