My List of Froyo Issues Thus Far...

The update.zip is not required to be on my SD card if I am upgrading to CWM ALL? I can forget the update.zip ever existed.

Yeeeep. And you don't even have to take the time to delete it, you can just leave it where it is. But for everyone reading this, this only applies if you are on sc 2.9.

CWM-all, 2.9, and 2.9.1 patch are all installed. You guys were a big help. I feel educated and now understand tons more than I did just yesterday. I will not only begin enjoying the goodness of 2.9 but I should be able to flash in the future without someone holding my hand. You guys are great.

We all start somewhere.

I thought I would try dark96 idea. Before flashing 2.9, I charged the battery to 100% by plugging the phone in multiple times until it was full. Last night when I went to bed, the phone had over 65% battery. 9 hours later it had 5% just sitting idle (standalone GPS is turned off, btw).

@Landshark, I have Terminal Emulator installed. I am going to charge the phone to 100% and try that technique. I hope this fixes the issue.

I would also like to figure out why the locked screen comes back right after I hit the lock/power button. It did it twice last night. Normally the lock screen will time out within a few seconds if it does happen to come on after locking it. But sometimes I hit the lock button, the light will immediately come back on, the phone will be in a locked state, and the screen will just stay dimly lit on the locked screen and never go off (actually I get tired of waiting for it to go off and manually turn it back off)

I used Landshark's method with the bstats and Terminal Emulator, and it has worked for me. I can go to work with a fully charged battery and I'll have 80% battery left after 15 hrs of mostly idle time. This is even with the GPS left ON. I did discover, however, I need to shut the wifi off if not using it because it'll constanstly search for networks and that's my biggest battery drain.

I have noticed this too. When I lock the phone, the screen will go out then come back right back onto the lock screen, and stay lit up on the lockscreen indefinitly. It will go out for good if I press the lock button a second time. Just a minor issue for me.

Something I would like, if possible, is when I'm in the clock screen, the music button defaults to the stock music player. How can this be set to go to PowerAmp instead?

Thanks Craig. My WIFI is always left on but I never noticed a major issue with battery. Is your 'standalone GPS' left on? That one was killing my battery and I am looking forward the fix that will allow it to shut off when not in use.

I just ran my battery completely dead until the phone shut off. I plugged it in and turned it on, now it reads 40% battery. I definitely have to run the fix on my battery which I will do later when the battery is full.

Another issue I would like to point out to the developers is, the volume level of the text sounds (swype only) is considerably louder than all of the other system click sounds. It was this way when I was flashed to sc2.6 and still the same with sc2.9 (my cousin and wifes phone are the same as well). I have to leave my system volume on the lowest setting otherwise the clicking of my texts is loud and distorted. The other keyboards work perfect as far as volume levels. Just passing along the info.

Also, is it a fact that wifi is constantly searching in turn draining our battery and is there a fix in the works for that? Thanks!

I am seeing more and more people reporting this bug of the screen turning back on after hitting the power button. Probably a good idea for the two of you to post in Adrynalyne's superclean thread to let him know about it since this has only popped up since 2.9. And be as specific about how it happens, that will help him.

Adrynalyne has advised us to turn off wifi and GPS when we are not using them. He has also suggested we toggle both on and off through the settings menu rather than through the quick panel at the top of the page when you pull down the notification bar. To do it in settings hit the menu soft key and go =>settings=>wireless and networking=>wifi settings, click turn on wifi, the hit the back soft key twice and go =>location and security and put a check mark in standalone GPS services. I leave Verizon and Google on. Turning wifi and GPS in this fashion will also toggle the wifi and GPS icons in the quick panel on and off.

Hey tony, are you talking about that loud click you hear when you are tapping letters on the keyboard? If so you can turn that off by going menu=>language & keyboard=>Swype settings, and uncheck audio feedback. Hope that helps.

Thanks Landshark, I posted the issues in detail over in the sc2.9 thread.

Yes, I saw your post in Adrynalyne's superclean thread. Sorry, but I only meant for you to post the issue about the screen coming back on after you hit the power button. And I tried to answer your first question, but have received no reply as to whether I was talking about the right thing or if what I suggested worked. Quite a few new peole have been complaining about the delay in getting answer or not getting a rely to their post at all. If you are expecting an answer to a problem you posted, or just a question you have. Please return the favor of anwering our questions so we can help you better, or post the results of whatever method or fix someone gave you to help

Ive only had one problem with FroYo, my phone likes to be possessed and randomly starts vibrating and repeatedly backs out of all my programs, only fix is to swipe across all my touch capacitive buttons, and suddenly it stops.
